Ace-Hi can cater for most riders experience, we
run scenic trail rides, Forest rides, Ocean, Bush n Beach rides and
some specialty type rides i.e. day tours to Flinders or just relaxing
rides up towards Arthur’s seat for lunch. It will be necessary to book
any riding prior to arriving. (failure to book may disappoint some
riders).
On arrival to the chapel prior to riding all riders are asked to fill
in an assumption form (unfortunately due to insurance cover we have to
comply with this), this form also helps us to select the appropriate
horse to match your needs.
From the Jailhouse we supply Safety Helmets,
In order to ride at Ace-Hi these MUST be worn at all times. Correct
footwear is also very important whilst riding so please ensure you
have a change of footwear appropriate for riding, as
open footwear is not acceptable. After selection of your trusty steed
our instructors will help with the mounting giving
out safe riding instruction at the same time if necessary. From here
the instructors will take you off on your particular ride also
helping with any instruction or riding hints along the way

(Supervision ratio is 1:6)
There
are two basic variations to this ride; the first tour is a walk only,
there is no trotting or cantering on these rides, the second which has
an extended tour does include some limited opportunity to rise to the
trot and canter (will suit the beginner who
needs a little more than a walk)
This 2 hour Forest ride is set at $65 per rider and is available to all riders over 7 yrs of age.

This exhilarating ride is for riders who are
experienced and able to rise to the trot & canter. After steed
selection, mounting and a small brief our staff will take you for a
quick canter up the hill this will help us to be
sure that we have the correct match with your horse. If all OK then
off to greens bush, this ride will take you past the
local market gardens before entering the greens bush national park.
From this point enjoy the scenery, the ride and remember to duck
your head if necessary whilst cantering (we do not want any
accidents). At about the half way point we
have a break for those of you who need a rest.
From
here on there is plenty of opportunity to canter so be ready to go for
it (But remember stay behind our staff). Keep your eyes open, as there
are a number of Wedge tail eagle and many different types of bird
life. Kangaroo can be seen frequently on this
ride more so on the late afternoon tours. As we leave the national
park take in the majestic views of Port Phillip Bay & the Heads.

This bush and beach ride is set at $80 per rider and is
available to all riders over 7 yrs of age. Group
concessions of up to 15% are available on request. (Condition: all
younger riders must have some previous riding experience)
Departs daily from the jailhouse at, 9.00am and 12.30pm, (4.00pm
daylight saving time only). (bookings
essential)
This is by far our most sought after ride,
due to the demand for this ride we will take inexperienced riders thru
to the most experienced riders down to the beach. After your horse
selection process has been completed our staff will brief you as to
any conditions that might be pertinent on the day: (we do ride thru
national parks there are conditions)
Be sure before leaving
Ace-Hi that you want to remain in the saddle for approx 2.75 hours, as
once we leave ace-hi there is no turning back unless of extreme
emergencies.
After about 20 minutes thru ace-hi property we leave to go thru
Gundabah, this is an open stretch of property with some gentle
undulation. After crossing this section we proceed down the bush
track, this track is suitable for a good canter and
will please the more experienced riders, meanwhile our staff will help
the not so experienced to canter and enjoy their ride
also. From the track there is some gentle walking along Truemans
road until we cross over into the national park. Down another track to
St. Andrews beach, but before the beach a 5
minute break for all of you who want a rest, then onto the ocean
beach, a gentle walk up the beach before a good canter back along the
waters edge (if at this point you do not wish to canter please notify
the staff of you intentions). After about 15
to 20minutes on the beach we leave to return home. By this time most
of our riders are getting very familiar with their horses and are
feeling confident , thus we tend to have a slightly quicker return to
ace- hi.(at this point I reiterate if you have any reservations about
your riding capabilities please talk to our
staff that is their job to look after you, the customer)
Pony rides are available from 10am through to 5pm weekends and
school holidays. Bookings are not essential, however if you intend to
pony ride mid week then please ring ahead to check on the
availability. Cost is set at $8 per ride, and all tickets can be
purchased from the chapel restaurant

Here at Ace Hi we try to cater for all age
groups, so if you have a young one who is 7 years or under and really
would like to try riding then try one of our ponies. You will need to
lead the pony on a pre determined track, this
will take around 5 to 10 minutes depending on how long you take to
walk the pony. We do suggest however that for
very young infants one parent to hold the infant steady and one parent
to lead the pony is required |
