Our commercial kitchen & facilities allows us to cook for 100+ people & we can do multiple meal sittings if required.

SCHOOL / GROUP CATERING:

The first meal we serve on camp is dinner on day 1. Therefore, all staff and students are required to provide their own lunch and afternoon snack on the day of arrival. All other meals will be provided (if on a catered camp) until your departure. If you have planned activities offsite (during your stay or on the day of departure), we can orgainse a packed lunch for you.

FACILITIES:

Our Chapel dining hall is a beautiful sand stone building with open rafters and leadlight windows, which creates a nice ambient environment for eating. It can sit 100 people per sitting. Should your school be over 100 persons, we can do 2 meal sittings (2 groups of 100).

Example:

  • 100 persons and under – 8.30 am Breakfast, 12.30 pm Lunch, 6.00 pm Dinner
  • 101 persons and over – 7.45 am & 8.30 am Breakfast, 12.30 pm Lunch*, 5.45 pm & 6.30 pm Dinner

We can serve lunch at 1 sitting as we have an outdoor courtyard that allows for additional persons to sit and eat. If the weather is poor, we can also have 2 lunch sittings 12.30 pm and 1 pm.

Our commercial kitchen is constantly undergoing improvements. Currently, it is equipped with a Combi Steam oven, which allows for multiple tray cooking, and less need for deep fried food. It can do everything from toasting to roasting. Having a bain-marie servery, we can ensure all persons receive a hot meal.
For staff requiring a camp pick-me-up we can also offer coffees from our commercial coffee machine.

Our Chapel also runs a Kiosk, so if you would like your students to be able to purchase lollies, soft drinks, ice creams or even souvenirs we can offer this at a convenient time on camp.

The Chapel also has a Wi-Fi signal if internet is required; see staff on camp for details. Should a parent/school need to contact you, they are most welcome to call our office for us to facilitate. The most convenient time is generally during meal times when the school’s staff members are available in the chapel eating.

MENU:

Our food menu is created by our dedicated cook prior to your arrival at camp. A copy of the menu can be sent to the school prior to arrival if requested.

DIETARY REQUIREMENTS:

Allergens can be catered for at Ace-Hi. Anaphylaxis, intolerances, allergies and religious requirements can all be catered for with prior knowledge. We request that you provide us with a list of dietary requirements approximately 2 weeks prior to your arrival on camp so we have enough time to review it and create a menu.

Should parents be concerned, we are more than happy to have a parent contact us prior to camp to discuss any concerns they may have. We’re also happy for parents to provide their own food for their child if they are overly concerned.

Whilst we do endeavor to cater for everyone, there may be times where we need the student / staff to supply their own snacks, bread etc if we are unable to find an appropriate alternative for their dietary requirement.

DUTY GROUPS:

Here at Ace-Hi we require duty groups before and after all meals to assist our kitchen staff in getting ready for food service (for your group meals). Prior to meals, duty groups will be required to set tables and other basic tasks (putting out water jugs etc). After meals, duty groups will be asked to clear tables and do a quick tidy up. Usually for a duty group, we ask for a handful of students (i.e. 1 cabin, 6-8 students) for about 5-10 mins.
